LUMBER WIZARD ENHANCEMENTS IMPROVE SENSITIVITY AND EASE-OF-USE

The Lumber Wizard Woodworking Metal Detector is updated with better detection strength, ease-of-use, and increased reliability.

Van Nuys, California – The Lumber Wizard, a favorite among woodworkers nationwide, has recently undergone some design enhancements.

The popular metal detector has seen tremendous growth in popularity and recognition. “It filled a need for a highly sensitive, affordable, feature-packed metal detector for woodworkers,” says company CEO Billy Carmen. “With our personal customer support and great warranty, we’ve become a favorite of many consumers.”

All Lumber Wizards shipped as of October 2003 feature an improved circuit design, and more robust construction. The highly sensitive detector is now more reliable than ever, and its externally accessible coarse-tuning adjustment screw allows it to be precisely tuned.

“We’re quite happy with the response this product has received,” noted Carmen. “User reviews have been overwhelmingly positive, and having the product featured on TV shows such as The New Yankee Workshop, has really helped increase consumer awareness of the important role of metal detectors in the wood shop.”

There's probably nothing more annoying to a woodworker than damaging a planer, saw or jointer blade. Frequently small metal objects such as staples, nails, screws or even bullets can be hidden inside new or recycled wood. Undetected, these metal culprits often cause costly planer or jointer blade damage, or worse still, they can cause injury to woodworkers.

The Lumber Wizard helps detect metal objects buried up to 4” deep in wood. It is easy to use, designed specially for woodworkers, and is far less expensive than comparable “security” metal detector products. Retailing for only $99.95, it is currently available nationwide through ACE Hardware stores, Woodcraft Supply, Lee Valley, Amazon.com, Eagle America, and many other woodworking and specialty tool suppliers, hardware stores, and most catalog retailers. “It can pay for itself with just one blade saved,” noted Carmen.

“Though the changes are subtle, they’re very important steps in improving an already great product.” noted Carmen. “We’re constantly looking for ways to improve our products while keeping our prices low. Ultimately, it’s the consumer who benefits the most.”

The Lumber Wizard, a favorite tool among woodworkers nationwide, now has a feature to help pinpoint buried metal in reclaimed wood.

The popular metal detector has been a staple in the industry for more than a decade now. “It has filled a need for a highly sensitive, affordable, feature-packed metal detector for woodworkers,” says company CEO Billy Carmen. “With our personal customer support and great warranty, we’ve become a favorite of many consumers.”

On June 20th at the AWFS Show in booth 1268, Wizard Industries will be unveiling the new Lumber Wizard 4 Laser Line Woodworking Metal Detector that features an improved circuit design, and a laser line indicator. The highly sensitive detector is now more reliable than ever, and it makes locating metal easier and faster due to its laser line indicator.

“This new version provides much more detection depth and a bright red laser line generator that makes buried metal a lot easier to find,” noted Carmen. “User reviews have been off the chart, and having the product be the first of any type laser indicating metal detector, makes it cutting edge in many ways.”

Newly Updated Lumber Wizard 4 Uses Laser Visual Indicator To Make Metal Detection in Wood Easier and More Reliable

Updated with a laser visual indicator for quicker, easier, more reliable metal detection, Wizard Industries has released the new Lumber Wizard 4 Laser Line Woodworking Metal Detector. The improved tool is the first of its kind to provide laser light metal detection, which doubles detection capability. This unique feature, along with an entirely new design, gives woodworkers a more precise way to find nails, screws and other metal objects in all kinds of wood.

Popular for over a decade, the new Lumber Wizard 4 Laser Line Woodworking Metal Detector uses a bright red laser line to visually indicate the presence of metal up to 4” deep. Results are more precise because of its pinpoint accuracy. Working along with a sound indicator, this unique feature helps woodworkers find metal faster and easier, even in noisy workshops.

With improved false-positive rejection and automatic calibration, the Lumber Wizard 4 Woodworking Metal Detector significantly upgrades the ability to find metal before wood is fed through tools. This saves damage to planer, jointer or saw blades. The tool’s easier one-handed use and improved circuit design also improves effectiveness, reducing injuries caused by sharp, flying metal debris.

“This new version is designed for woodworkers who need a highly sensitive, affordable, feature-packed metal detector,” said Billy Carmen, CEO of Wizard Industries. “User reviews have been off the chart because the laser gives it greater detection with the added visualization, making buried metal a lot easier to locate. There’s no other tool with this capability.”

The patent pending Lumber Wizard 4 Woodworking Metal Detector carries a MSRP of $149.95 and will be formally introduced at the AWFS Fair, in Booth 1268, on July 20th, 2011. It will be available nationwide through Woodcraft Supply, Rockler, Lee Valley, Amazon.comSears.com, Eagle America, Woodworkers Supply, Klingspor’s, Burns Power Tools, Woodsmith Store, and other woodworking or specialty tool suppliers.
